Charles Philip Daniels Torres He has focused mainly on the composition of chamber and orchestral music. He has obtained several awards and distinctions, including First Place in theFirst Morelia Orchestral Composition Competition, Mexico, 2022; First Place in theNational Prize for Orchestral Composition "Raíces" in Jalisco, Mexico, 2021; the Award for Excellence inInternational Orchestral Composition Competition “Awards for Artistic Creation” in Hangzhou, China, 2021; First Place in the international symphonic composition competition“Future Symphony Competition”in Lithuania, 2020.

His orchestral works have been performed in Mexico and abroad by orchestras such as the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, the Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra, the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Polytechnic Institute Symphony Orchestra, and the Future Symphony Orchestra ( Lithuania), Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra of the Arts, Morelia Symphony Orchestra, Toluca Philharmonic Orchestra, Mexiquense Symphony Orchestra, New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving (EU). He has collaborated with directors such as Scott Yoo, Román Revueltas Retes, Rodrigo Macías González, Luis Manuel Sánchez, Andrew Hunter, Jesús Medina Villarreal, Enrique Barrios González, Adomas Morkūnas-Budrys, Miguel Salmón del Real, Sergio Espinosa, among others.


His chamber music has been performed at festivals such as the Third Hangzhou New Music Festival, China; Music Mexico Symposium, United States; Cervantino International Festival, Mexico; Zacatecas Cultural Festival, Morelia Music Festival, Fine Arts Chamber Music and the Manuel Enríquez International New Music Forum. Among the ensembles that have performed his music are the Shanghai New Music Ensemble, Kalliope Reed Quintet, Mexico City Breathing Quintet, José White String Quartet, Ensamble 3, Ensamble Signos, Ensamble Zephyrus, Estereocluster, Arizona Wind Quintet, Borderlands Ensemble and Wild Prairie Winds.

As a film composer he has created the soundtracks for several short films, including “Sânge” and the Student Oscar winner “Crescendo”, both by Pércival Argüero, “Rosario” and “Alpha & Romeo”, both by Marlén Ríos-Farjat, “Mi vanidad” by Francisco Bautista and the animated short film “Olas en el cielo” by Gildardo Santoyo. He also created the music for the choreography "Ánima" by Paula Rechtman, music that was also used for the solo “Lu´um” by the same choreographer.

He is a professor of harmony, counterpoint, orchestration and composition at the Academy of Art of Florence (AAF), at the Composition Integral Nucleus (NICO), at the Center for Musical Research and Studies (CIEM), and at the Faculty of Music of the UNAM.
